About Jacqueline

Jacqueline is a litigation lawyer and a founding partner of Spark LLP.

She has a broad and varied corporate/commercial litigation practice representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex (and not so complex) commercial disputes. Jacqueline is highly regarded as an experienced and tough commercial litigation lawyer.

The first thirteen years of her career were spent at what is now Strosberg Sasso Sutts LLP, one of Canada’s leading plaintiff’s side class action firms, where she gained extensive experience in complex commercial cases, class action litigation and appeals. As an articling student at Bereskin & Parr, one of Toronto’s leading intellectual property firms, Jacqueline developed a fascination with the copyright and trademark world that continues to intrigue her today.

While Jacqueline has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario, including regular visits to the Court of Appeal, a trip to the Supreme Court of Canada has eluded her. An eternal optimist, she continues to patiently wait for that golden case that will bring her to the doors of Canada’s highest court.

Called to the Ontario bar in 2002, Jacqueline was elected in 2011 as the youngest bencher in the Law Society of Upper Canada’s long history. Re-elected by her peers in 2015 and 2019, she is serving her third and final term as a bencher where she is chair of the Professional Regulation Committee, Proceedings Authorization Committee and Technology Task Force. Jacqueline is also a member of the Board of Directors of Library Co. Inc., a non-profit corporation created to manage the Ontario County and District Law Library system.

Splitting her time between Windsor and Toronto, Jacqueline is also a sessional instructor and frequent guest lecturer at University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law teaching Legal Profession and Ethics to eager law students.
